Last month La Melodia flew over to New York and Philly for shows and sightseeing. Actually: From the moment we arrived at JFK we rushed into a cab to go and do a show at Q-Tip and Rich Medina's night in club Santos. Straight from the airport to the stage!!! Double Talk is a annual event at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Every year they come with another theme. This year they wanted to do a Wild Style edition with panels, workshops and live performances by the movie cast. They also wanted to screen the movie but in a different way. Now they asked me if I could remix the score of Wild Style. Crazy idea but what does that mean? Do whatever you like they told me....
This movie is classic to me . Its shows were hip hop is born. Since everything is lo-fi in the movie (made in 1983) I adjusted my sound to it. So what I did was dramatise scenes/put extra soundfx to it/reworked the theme songs and some more stuff. I kept the live performances original didnt want to mess with that.

The screening was at the Paradiso main hall january 30th. With Charlie Ahearn, Fab 5 Freddy, Bussy Bee, Grand Wizard Theodore, Crazy Legs, Mr Freeze and Kool Moe Dee(Footage of the show). Memomarable evening hanging with real hip hop legends. Everbody was so hyped up about the new score. Charlie Ahearn even blessed me with e new name: PERCY LA ROCK!!!!
